This 121-horse-powered beast boasts more under its bonnet than you could poke a stick at. First, the brain – an army of sensors, over 100 to be precise, feeding a central nervous system comprised of a battery management system and ECU. "But that's not new," I hear you cry! You're right. Evoke has been fiddling with this tech since 2017. All this digital wizardry allows for on-the-fly adjustments to optimize your range, speed, and power output.

Now let's talk distance. At $24,995 (or £20,000 if you’re from across the pond), this chunky piece of Chinese marvel promises to cover a staggering 410 miles in the city and a respectable 280 miles when it's having a chat with the motorway. It's out-enduring most petrol guzzlers, and for that alone, it deserves a tip of the helmet.

On to the heart of the beast – a 29.8kWh lithium battery. Kept cool by some geeky software to avoid getting its circuits in a twist during a fast charge. Fast charge? Oh yes, Evoke is saying you can go from “I’ve got nothing” to “I’m good for another 200 miles” in the time it takes you to enjoy a cup of joe. But stick it into your ordinary wall socket, and it’s more of a hibernation than a quick nap. You’re in for a 12-hour wait.

There's more good news, though. CMO Nil Larom boasts that these batteries aren't just a passing fad. They’re talking solid-state construction and a mind-blowing 2000 cycles of juice for your motorcycle and another 2000 cycles as portable power storage. That's 15 years of life before the need to recycle - a longer life expectancy than a goldfish, my dear friends.

And of course, no fancy bike would be complete without a few shiny bits and bobs. The GT has LED lighting from tip to tail, and chunky 310mm discs with four-piston calipers for stopping power, all being driven to the 17'' rear wheel via chain final drive. And it even boasts a 7'' TFT color screen for, well, whatever bikers need a screen for. No word on any UK dealers yet, but rumor has it, it's already causing a stir on the mainland.
