Volvo's ES90 Leaked! Lifted and Looking Like a Polestar Cousin?

Volvo was all poised for a grand reveal, and then BAM! The internet decides to throw a party before the host is ready. We've got our first peek at the ES90, and it's... interesting. First off, this ain't your low-rider sedan. Nope, this baby's got a bit of a lift, like it's been hitting the gym. It's giving major Polestar 2 vibes with that ground clearance, but hey, more room for those pesky speed bumps, right?

This new ES90 shares many of its toys with the EX90, but it has an all-singing, all-dancing 800V architecture. We're talking potentially the same 111 kWh battery and dual motors. And, of course, a single-motor version will join the party later. The launch edition? Rumor has it it's rocking the 510 horsepower powertrain from the EX90 Performance model. But knowing Volvo, they might just crank it up a notch, because why not?
Volvo promises a whopping 435 miles of range and lightning-fast 350 kW DC charging. Imagine getting from 10 to 80% battery in just 20 minutes! That's faster than my morning coffee run. And the tech doesn't stop there. Dual Nvidia Drive AGX Orin, boasting a mind-blowing 508 TOPS, which is, in layman's terms, "super smart." Volvo says it's eight times better than their old system. Basically, this car's brain is doing calculus while you're just trying to parallel park.

The new 800-volt system is the star of the show. Faster charging, thinner wires, lighter motors – it's the automotive equivalent of a supermodel diet. And speaking of diets, it also cuts down on heat loss, making it more efficient. Volvo needs this one to be a hit. After a few hiccups with the EX90 and those pesky tariffs on the EX30, they're looking to win back some hearts.
The ES90 is built on Volvo's SPA2 architecture, the same one as the EX90, and it's got this "Superset" tech stack that's all about safety and over-the-air updates. This is a car that gets smarter with age, like a fine wine, but without the hangover.
And safety? This is Volvo. They've practically trademarked it. With that super-smart AI and lightning-fast sensors, this car is practically a guardian angel on wheels.
