Dodge Finally Reveals a Four-Door Charger Daytona EV… In Bludicrous Blue!

Dodge has finally decided to bless us with a four-door Charger. I get it. Charger Daytona is a name that conjures images of roaring V8s and the smell of burnt rubber. But, times they are a-changin', and Dodge has joined the electric revolution with the two-door a while back, and thankfully with a healthy dose of their signature muscle car madness.
Let's get this "Bludicrous" blue paint job out of the way first. I mean, seriously, "Bludicrous?" Someone at Dodge clearly has a thesaurus and a penchant for the absurd. It's a bold color, I'll give them that, like a blueberry that's been working out at the gym. But it's a welcome change from the usual shades of gray that seem to dominate the electric car world. I guess Dodge decided that if they're going electric, at least they're going to be loud and proud about it. Since they can't really be "loud" about it, right?

The car itself is a four-door, which means you can now haul the whole family (or a bunch of your mates) in electric muscle car style. The proportions are, shall we say, interesting. The two-door version looked a bit…awkward, like it skipped leg day. But the four-door seems to have sorted out some of those visual quirks. It still has that aggressive stance, though, like it's ready to rumble, even if it's only making a faint electric hum. Or fake V8 rumble.
Dodge is saying no more roaring V8s. Some purists are probably having heart palpitations right now, but hey, progress, right? And for those who are still clinging to the internal combustion engine, Dodge will also be offering a twin-turbocharged six-cylinder version. So, there's something for everyone, even the dinosaurs among us. There's a rumor flying around that the V8 might make a surprise comeback…
The Charger Daytona is supposed to be quick, and Dodge claims it delivers. And I say - with that name it better! And while they haven't released the final figures for acceleration yet, the four-door shares its powertrains with the two-door, and that means less than 5 seconds zero to 62 for the 456-hp R/T version, and about 3.5 seconds for the 630-hp Scat Pack. That's "stick your head to the back of the seat" fast. And with a battery pack that's big enough to power a small town, you'll be able to go a decent distance before needing to plug in.

Dodge hasn't officially announced the final price, but it won't be a good enough reason for a divorce. The two-door has seen some awesome deals, with prices dropping to a family sedan level with all the incentives available. I wonder if Dodge will offer the $299 monthly lease… Who would have thought that Charger would one day be the car for the masses?
The interior has all the usual electric car gizmos and gadgets. Big screens, fancy lights, and enough tech to make your head spin. But Dodge has also managed to retain some of that classic muscle car feel. It's a mix of modern and retro, like a time machine that's been upgraded with a Wi-Fi connection.
Unfortunately, the production of this electric beast has been delayed a bit. Originally, they said it would be hitting the streets in the first quarter of 2025. But now, they're saying it's going to be the second half of the year, with production starting in May for the 2026 model year. Classic Dodge, always keeping us on our toes.

The four-door Dodge Charger is back, and it's called Daytona. And even though it's electric, it is loud, and it's ludicrously blue. And yes, it's coming to a street near you…eventually. I think it's worth that little extra wait - the world needs a bit more Bludicrous in it.
