This $22,000 Tiny Golf Cart Thinks It's a G-Wagon

Look what I found browsing through the treasure trove on the Mecum Auctions website. Somebody beat the Mercedes and made an electric Baby G-Wagon! Imagine, if you will, a Mercedes G-Class shrunk down to the size of a particularly enthusiastic badger. Now, equip that badger with a golf bag and a serious attitude, and you've got the Bodo G-Wagon.

This miniature marvel sports a 10 kWh battery, which, in the grand scheme of things, is about enough for what this contraption is designed to do. Surprisingly, this little electric chariot can still hit a blistering 35 mph. A full 35 mph. You'll be the terror of the golf course, leaving a trail of bewildered golfers and slightly singed turf in your wake. And with an 80-mile range, you can practically circumnavigate the entire course… twice!

The Bodo G-Wagon is quite ambitious in its looks, but unfortunately, its ambitions are carried into the pricing as well. This golf cart, this tiny, electric, glorified go-kart, will set you back $21,900. Let that sink in for a moment. That's more than you'd pay for a brand-spanking-new Nissan Versa. A real car. With doors, windows, and an engine that doesn't sound like a swarm of angry bees.

But then again - who needs a real car when you can have a golf cart that looks like a G-Wagon? It's got all the bells and whistles - a digital instrument cluster, a small infotainment system, and even a dual-screen rear entertainment system. Because, you know, you wouldn't want your passengers to miss out on the riveting action of… well, whatever you can cram onto those tiny screens.

What about creature comforts? Power windows and locks, a heater, air conditioning, and a rearview camera - all are present and accounted for. It's like a luxury apartment on wheels, albeit one that fits neatly in your garage next to the lawnmower. The attention to detail is, dare I say, impressive. Working lights, turn signals, windshield wipers, and even a spare tire carrier. It's a G-Wagon in miniature, and it's absolutely ridiculous. In a good way, of course.

Let's compare this little electric wonder to its big (very distant) cousin, the Mercedes G 580 with EQ Technology. The original has a 122 kWh battery pack and a quad-motor all-wheel drive system with a staggering 579 horsepower. The Bodo, on the other hand, makes do with a whimsy 20 ponnies. It really feels like comparing a rocket ship to a particularly quick golf cart.

But this isn't about practicality. It's about making a statement. It's about showing up to the golf course and making everyone else feel like they're driving a rusty shopping cart. And who wouldn't want to be that guy?

This particular Bodo G-Wagon is going up for auction at Mecum on March 21st. So, if you've got a spare $21,900 burning a hole in your pocket, and you're looking for a way to make a grand entrance at your local golf club, this might just be the perfect vehicle for you. Or, you could buy a real car. Your call.

Bodo G-Wagon is a testament to the sheer absurdity of the automotive world. It's a golf cart that costs more than a car, and it's absolutely brilliant. It's proof that the best things in life are the ones that make absolutely no sense. And if you see a tiny G-Wagon zipping around your local golf course, don't be alarmed. It's just someone living their best life. Me? I'm off to the garage - it's time to figure out how to fit a jet engine onto my lawnmower.
