Shockingly Cheap EVs? Dodge and Jeep Might Be Giving Them Away!

Dodge Charger Daytona and Jeep Wagoneer S

I've heard some whispers, rumors if you will, floating around the interwebs that are so juicy, so downright scandalous, I nearly choked on my Earl Grey. Apparently, Stellantis, the folks behind Dodge and Jeep, might be getting a little… generous with their electric vehicles. And by generous, I mean, like, "Are you sure this isn't a typo?" kind of generous.

I'm not one to spread gossip, but this is just too good to keep to myself. A little birdie (okay, a Reddit post) told me that Stellantis employees are about to get some seriously sweet deals on leasing the new electric Dodge Charger Daytona and the Jeep Wagoneer S. And, if the rumors are true, these deals might just trickle down to us regular folks soon enough. And this is where things get wild.

We're talking about leasing a Dodge Charger Daytona R/T, that electric beast with all the retro-futuristic vibes, for a measly $268 a month. Yes. Two hundred and sixty-eight dollars. That's less than some people's subscription to artisanal cheese! And if you're feeling a little more… Scat Pack-ish, you can apparently snag that version for just $331 a month.

The real shocker is the Jeep Wagoneer S. Apparently, Stellantis employees can lease this luxurious electric SUV for a mind-boggling $129 a month. One hundred and twenty-nine dollars! I'm not sure what's more surprising, the price or the fact that I haven't fainted from shock yet. That's less than a good gym membership, and let's be honest, we can get way more use out of a car than out of the treadmill.

All hopes aside, I think this sounds too good to be true. The source of this information is a Reddit post from someone claiming to be a Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership manager in New Jersey. That's about as reliable as a politician's promise. And sometimes, just sometimes, things that seem too good to be true… are actually too good to be true.

However, there's a little part of me that hopes these rumors are true. Both the Charger Daytona and the Wagoneer S haven't exactly been setting the sales charts on fire. They've been getting lukewarm reviews, and dealers have already been offering some pretty hefty discounts. Maybe Stellantis is trying to boost interest by getting these EVs out on the road and into the public eye? A sort of "if you build it, they will come" strategy, but with electric cars.

If these lease deals do become available to the public, it'll be hard to resist. Who wouldn't want to drive a brand-new electric car for less than the cost of a fancy coffee habit? I'm already picturing myself cruising down the highway in a Charger Daytona, wind in my hair, and not a single worry about gas prices.

Of course, there's always the possibility that this is all just a big, elaborate hoax. But even if it is, it's a fun thought experiment. Maybe Stellantis will surprise us all and actually offer these incredible deals. Stranger things have happened before.

Keep your eyes peeled, folks. If these rumors turn out to be true, we might be driving electric cars much sooner than we think. And even if they're not true, at least we had a bit of a laugh. Either way, it's an exciting time to be a car enthusiast. Especially if you're into electric vehicles. And especially if you like a good deal.

Just in case, I'm going to dust off my checkbook and start dreaming about which electric car I'm going to lease. Maybe I'll get one of each! Just kidding (mostly). But seriously, Stellantis, if you're listening, I'm ready to sign on the dotted line. Just let me know when and where.
