Double the Fun: New Electric Mini Cooper Boasts Twice the Range of Its Predecessor!

Attention, all you fine people out there, I bring you the news of the century - the brand spanking new electric Mini Cooper has arrived, and it's more electrifying than ever. This little rascal is built on the 5th generation of the Mini and has evolved like a Pokemon from its 2019 Mini Cooper SE ancestor.

Now, for the first time ever, you can choose from not one, but two power outputs! How utterly delightful. And just like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, the batteries in this little tyke have metamorphosed to address the biggest bugbear of the previous model: its range. Who knew we'd be living in the future, eh?

As anticipated, Mini is swerving its focus towards all-electric models after the Cooper SE stole the hearts of the world last year, selling 43,000 units worldwide. That's a whopping 20% of all Mini vehicles sold globally - a colossal figure for such a tiny little thing.

The new Mini Cooper Electric will shimmy into production this coming November, offering two powertrains for your motoring pleasure. The 135kW (181hp) unit from the current model is reserved for the Cooper E version, while a more beefed-up 160 kW (215 hp) unit in the SE version will bring back the vroom-vroom Cooper is renowned for.

But the most impressive upgrade is in the battery department. Say farewell to the puny, golf-cart-esque 28.9 kWh pack and hello to the new 40.7 kWh battery. This bad boy should provide 300 km of driving, according to Mini. For the Cooper Electric SE, there's an even more ginormous 54.2 kWh battery, offering a staggering 400 km of driving. That's double the range of the current model - a round of applause, please!

The Mini Cooper Electric will be lovingly crafted alongside its cousin, the Mini Countryman, at the Leipzig factory in Germany. After it goes on sale, it'll be joined by the Mini Aceman in 2024. As for performance figures and prices, Mini is playing coy, but we can expect a slightly heftier price tag compared to the current model. The E version might start at around €35,000 in Europe, while the SE version will probably set you back around €39,000.

So, my dear friends, buckle up and get ready for a wild ride with the new electric Mini Cooper - the future of tiny, electrified motoring has never looked so thrilling!

Yours truly,

Captain Electro.
