Bugatti Goes Electric with the Baby II Type 35 Centenary Edition
Bugatti is back at it again with another special edition car. This time, they've ditched the gas guzzlers and gone electric. But don't get too excited, this ain't your usual Bugatti with enough power to stop the Earth spinning. No, this one is called the Baby II Type 35 Centenary Edition, and it's about as powerful as a golf cart... but hey, at least it's got buckets of cuteness!
Bugatti is no stranger to fancy limited-edition cars. They've made everything from porcelain-covered Veyrons to the sleek W16 Mistral. But this time, they decided to team up with The Little Car Company and create a mini electric version of the iconic Type 35 race car. You can look at it as the Hot Wheels version of a Bugatti, only fancier (and way more expensive).
The Baby II Type 35 Centenary Edition is a tribute to the original Type 35, which made its debut way back in 1924. The original was a beast on the racetrack, racking up over 2,500 wins in 10 years. This new one, well, it's not going to win any races, but it's still a head-turner.
Each car is handcrafted with an aluminum body and painted to match the six original Type 35 race cars. They're a lovely shade of Bleu de Lyon with hand-painted numbers on the front, hood, and back. The interior is just as fancy, with a black leather seat, a wooden steering wheel, and a shiny brass plate with a matching chassis number from one of the original cars. Talk about attention to detail!
When it comes to performance, this little guy has a 2.8 kWh battery pack and a motor that puts out a mesmerizing 13 horsepower. Yep, that’s not a typo. It's not going to break any land speed records, but it'll get you up to 42 mph (68 km/h). So, perfect for a leisurely drive through the park... as long as there are no steep hills.
Only six of these little beauties are being made, and they're already sold out. Bummer, I know. But if you've got an extra $80,000 lying around, maybe you can convince one of the lucky owners to part with theirs. Who knows, maybe they'll throw in a matching helmet and goggles!
So, the Bugatti Baby II Type 35 Centenary Edition: small, cute, and not very powerful. But it's a Bugatti, and that's gotta count for something, right?
