Well, butter my breakfast biscuits and call me a biscuit eater – Kia's done gone and given the EV6 a makeover. And I must say, it's looking sharper than a taco dipped in hot sauce.

The first thing that caught my eye was the front end. It's got a whole new face, with headlights that squint like they're trying to remember where they parked the car. It's a bit more angular than the old model, but hey, who doesn't love a bit of edge? The new 19-inch and 20-inch wheels are a nice touch, too, and they come in black or silver, depending on how flashy you're feeling.

The interior's gotten a bit of a nip and tuck as well. The most noticeable change is the new curved screen that stretches across the dashboard like a digital smile. It houses both the instrument cluster and the infotainment system, and it looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. They've also added a fingerprint reader so you can start the car without a key, which is a pretty neat trick if you're prone to losing things like I am.

Under the floor, there's a new battery pack. It's 84 kWh, up from 77.4 kWh in the old model, and it promises a range of 307 miles (494 kilometers) in the rear-wheel-drive model. That's not too shabby, but we'll have to wait and see how it performs in the real world. The battery can also charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, which is way faster than it takes me to order a pizza.

The rear-wheel-drive model has 225 horsepower (168 kilowatts) and 258 pound-feet (350 Newton-meters) of torque, while the dual-motor version boasts 320 horsepower (239 kilowatts) and 446 pound-feet (605 Newton-meters). That's enough to get your heart racing, but it's not quite enough to make you forget about the GT model, which is still the king of the hill with its 576 horsepower (430 kilowatts) and 546 pound-feet (740 Newton-meters) of torque.

Kia has also made some improvements to the suspension and the motors, so the ride should be smoother and quieter than before. The motors are apparently quieter now, and the frequency-selective dampers were re-tuned for finer response. They've even strengthened the body to improve safety, which is always a good thing.

So, how much is this fancy new EV6 going to set you back? Well, in Korea, prices start at ₩55.4 million (around $40,500) for the Light model and go up to ₩63.15 million (around $46,100) for the GT-Line model. We don't yet know how much it will cost in the US, but we'll keep you posted.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the new EV6. It's got a fresh new look, a bunch of new features, and a bigger battery. It's not a revolution, but it's a solid evolution. And while that fingerprint reader won’t help me remember where I parked, once I find the car, I won’t need to worry about the keys that I most likely left at some random location.
