Revolution in the Skies - Lilium Jet Gets One Step Closer to Reality

Hello my dear roadies, sailors, and flyers. It's yours truly, the veteran of vehicular verbosity. Now, over the years, I've seen every type of vehicle imaginable – but let me tell you, nothing - and I mean NOTHING - has ever quite compared to the Lilium Jet.

Before we dive in, a disclaimer: I am an EV enthusiast, yes, but bear in mind, I'm also slightly skeptical, like a granddad eying a hoverboard for the first time.

Lilium N.V., not to be confused with those lovely flowers your aunt grows, has announced the commencement of fuselage assembly for the first-ever all-electric vertical take-off and landing jet (eVTOL). If that sounds sci-fi to you, that's because it is! Or... is it?

The assembly is happening in sunny Spain, at Aciturri’s state-of-the-art facility, which - get this - plans to have seven (yes, SEVEN) fuselages ready to roll. For those of you thinking, "why seven?", well, I'm just as baffled as you are. Perhaps one for every day of the week? Monday: Green, Tuesday: Blue... I'm getting ahead of myself.

Specs & Figures: The Nitty-Gritty

While we're lacking on the details like dimensions and power outputs (secretive bunch, these Lilium folks), what we do know is:

- Battery Capacity: Electric! I know, I'm being cheeky. But seriously, they haven't spilled the beans on this yet.

- Price: If you need to ask, it's too much. But I'll keep you posted.

- Acceleration times: From 0 to "we're flying?!" in just a moment. Probably.

- Other Fun Details: First manned flight? Late 2024. Yep, that's right around the corner, and I expect my invitation in the mail, Lilium!

In All Seriousness, though...

The big shots at Lilium are making some bold claims. Yves Yemsi, their COO, mentioned reshaping sustainable regional air mobility. Ah, the promise of a green future with skies filled with eVTOLs. Dreamy, right? Well, I'll believe it when I see it. And when I do, I'll be the first to shake their hands and say, "Well done."

With the help of Aciturri, with its oh-so-impressive 50-year history in aerospace, things are looking pretty darn positive for Lilium.

Okay, okay! So, Lilium's on the verge of changing how we view air travel, making it more sustainable, and perhaps even fun. But, in the meantime, I'll stick to my electric car and motorcycle rides, with the wind in my hair and both feet on the ground.

Yours truly,

Captain Electro
