This Tiny Electric Truck Has a Big Surprise

They say life is full of surprises, and the best way to go about it is to prepare for the unexpected. But nothing, I repeat NOTHING, prepared me for the Telo Truck. This little electric pickup has been making big waves in the automotive world, and for good reason. Looking at it feels like a magician pulled a full-size truck bed out of a Mini Cooper-sized hat!
A tiny truck? I always thought that's about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. But this one? This ain't no Tonka toy. The Telo Truck, designed by the geniuses at Fuseproject, might be small, but it's hiding a big secret.
This thing is a mere 152 inches long. That's a full Subway sandwich shorter than a Ford Fiesta! But somehow, it has a 5-foot-long cargo bed. That's the same size as a Toyota Tacoma. How they managed to squeeze that in there is beyond me. They had to use some kind of automotive black magic.
This pint-sized pickup has a full-size bed and it also has some clever storage solutions tucked away in the sides. Perfect for your fishing gear, camping equipment, or even a couple of bags of groceries.
The Telo Truck comes in two flavors. The first is a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive beast that pumps out a whopping 500 hp. This should be enough to get you from 0 to 60 mph in about 4 seconds, maybe even less. We are looking at a pickup truck that's about the size of a Mini Cooper, but with as much room as a Ford F-150 and as quick as a 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat. Even the second option with a single motor mounted on the rear axle delivers a still-respectable 300 hp. The world has gone mad.
Both versions come with a choice of two battery packs. The standard-range battery will get you around 260 miles on a single charge, while the long-range battery bumps that up to 350 miles. And if you're in a hurry, both batteries support fast charging, so you can juice up and get back on the road in no time.

The Telo Truck has all the markings of a winner, but there has to be a catch, right? Usually, the issue with these revolutionary vehicles is their ridiculous price. But not here, not today. The single-motor, standard-range Telo Truck starts at just $41,520. That's cheaper than a lot of gas-powered trucks out there. And if you want the top-of-the-line dual-motor, long-range model, it'll set you back $49,999. Not bad for a truck that can give a Hellcat run for its money, haul just about anything, and still fit in a compact parking space.
Of course, no vehicle is perfect. The Telo Truck is still in its early stages of development, and production isn't expected to start until late 2025. But if the final product lives up to the hype, this little truck could be a turning point. Zipping around in this thing, parking wherever you want, and still being able to haul your surfboard, mountain bike, or even a small refrigerator will change our perception of what a truck should be.

So, if you're in the market for a new truck but don't want to deal with the hassle of driving a 20-foot behemoth, the Telo Truck might be just what the doctor ordered. Heck, I think I'm going to go pre-order one of these bad boys. I've got a feeling they're going to be selling like hotcakes. Maybe I can even convince my wife to let me park it in the garage!
