Step aside, gas-guzzling tenders; there's a new boss on the blue. EJET, the spry Slovenian shipyard with a penchant for electricity, has finally dropped anchor on its long-anticipated electric jet tender, and it's making waves in the boating world like a whale in a bathtub. This little powerboat, the 4X, is EJET's star-studded showboat, strutting its stuff like a Tesla on the water and promising an electric ejection of fossil fuel dinosaurs from the superyacht tender scene. 

The company formed back in 2016, was just a tiny twinkle in the naval industry's eye. But now, EJET's come of age, sailing full-steam ahead with one clear course: to design all-electric tenders that are as exhilarating to ride as they are green and groundbreaking. With the release of the 4X, they're delivering on that promise, and boy, does this puppy deliver!

The 4X, besides being electric, isn't some over-glorified rubber dinghy. It’s an electric jet tender that's got the guts to go toe-to-toe with combustion-powered rivals and leave them spluttering in its wake. Its powertrain, cheekily nipping at 60 kW, gives the 4X a top speed of 35 knots, or 40 mph, for the landlubbers amongst us. Now, that’s less like a joyride, more like a rocket launch. 

Now, EJET's not one to do things the easy way. When most folks think electric, they think cars. But EJET’s CEO, Žiga Jarc, was quick to realize that boating and cars, despite sharing similarities, are as different as chalk and cheese. A boat has the unique challenge of battling water's density, which is a whopping 830 times higher than air. Picture climbing uphill, but the hill’s a mountain, and the mountain’s Everest. Yeah, that’s the sort of challenge we're talking about.

But from the looks of it, EJET's faced that challenge head-on and came out the other side, grinning like a Cheshire cat. Their solution is a system that's low-maintenance, safe, and always water-ready. The 4X comes equipped with a 46.2 kWh battery pack, providing up to 40 nautical miles of all-electric range. It even has three energy modes selectable from a 7-inch touchscreen: Eco, Normal, and Power. And just in case you're too busy enjoying the sea breeze to notice a low battery, the smart little 4X will switch to Eco mode automatically. Now that’s what I call smooth sailing!

Want to get your hands on this sweet ride? Well, you better start counting your doubloons. The 4X will set you back a cool $113,000. But don't worry if you can't cough up the cash right away. EJET's got their production slots for 2023 all booked up, but you can still get in line for a summer 2024 delivery.
